Promote Alpaca not just your herd…
Christmas yarn 2015 at Kensmyth
welcome to winter 2015
watch the pipes weather ahead for Christmas
crazy busy here as usual and the ground very wet in places. we left longer ground cover on some of the fields this year which has paid dividends as although wet grass, it has not churned up. Alpaca do not poach the ground due to their padded feet like horses/cloven hoofed livestock do but nevertheless they are heavy.
the storms winds have at least dried the fleeces and we are very impressed with the cria fleeces this year. year on year improvement has yielded some fantastic yarns.
with the weather set for “freeze” now is the time to eat that more solid food… yum yum..
Christmas cheer at Tesco’s??
is it me or are shoppers and shop assistants becoming grumpy already? I haven’t seen any Christmas story adverts on the TV only food, clothes, man in the moon but nothing on a new born King… silly me I thought it was about a famous birth not an expanding girth!
I did not want to buy a marred bread bin or a ripped paper – am I really odd or just the customer??

where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
I was taught to sing this as a child, I wanted to share it for those too young to know the song…
Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone? Young girls have picked them everyone. Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the young girls gone, long time passing? Where have all the young girls gone, long time ago?
Where have all the young girls gone? Gone for husbands everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn? Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the husbands gone, long time passing? Where have all the husbands gone, long time ago?
Where have all the husbands gone? Gone for soldiers everyone Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the soldiers gone, long time passing? Where have all the soldiers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the soldiers gone? Gone to graveyards, everyone. Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing? Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago?
Where have all the graveyards gone? Gone to flowers, everyone. Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn? Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone? Young girls have picked them everyone. Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
you can find the original on youtube and sing along yourself.

Halloween and Alpaca Showtime…
November sneaked in when we were not looking and the weather is really November – fog, mist, drizzy and smokey!
With every good intention of attending the Alpaca Show in Cambridge, we had a rare night away. unfortunately by the time the police got to create a path for the wide load and we got past the BOAT holding the traffic up on our way back from Thetford, it just did not happen
Great food in the Bell Inn though – Welsh Rarebit, Calamare, Pie, Ghost beer and a large glass of white!
oh and eggs Benedict in the morning yum yum! Alpaca behaved for their Alpaca sitters in our absence and lovely day Sunday pm.
