Oh what a beautiful baby at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow January 2022
Wow – only born in May 2021 and Fly is nearly level with his Mum who stands at 16hh to the wither. Alpaca followers may not know a horse is measured from the level ground without shoes (horse steel plates) to the highest point of the shoulder known as the “Wither”.
just look at how big her beautiful weaned colt is now at just 8 months old – wow!
Happy New Year 2022 from all at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow in the Cotswolds
Happy New Year 2022
Enjoy the mild weather and your first day of the New Year – who else could bring such a smile to our faces?
2021 reflections on the year at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
We have worked hard this year, more than any other year due to the inclement weather and unprecedented times we have lived through. We have lost loved ones, as have many, my Father being one of them, my Mother falling not long after breaking a leg and requiring stitches in her hand
and one of my sons (and I) spent Christmas Eve in hospital.. but through it all we have worked hard, played hard, loved and learnt a lot about our lives, family and friends along with the livestock. We have had easy and difficult births with the livestock and firstborn colt to our maiden mare simply outstanding..
We have had snow, hail, rain, hurricanes and temperatures of 30 degrees and our Alpaca (and horses) have come through it all happy, healthily and successfully.
Our Alpaca Stud males have proven their genetics time and time again with super cria for us and 2021 was no exception..
not to forget mentioning the stunning reliable mums input too..
returning Clients and new Clients along with course attendees have had a lot of fun this year too
family have worked hard for a successful year
throughout despite numerous setbacks.. yet we can still marvel at the beauty around us
and count our blessings as we approach the New Year 2022.
Wishing all our friends, family, clients a Happy New Year 2022 from Kensmyth in the Cotswolds.
Dramas at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow, Cirencester
Well I should not have said “what else could go wrong this year” or laughed at the photo below..
because boy did it, with more road dramas and Boris doing his best to lock us all down then not doing so, I still ended up in hospital on Christmas Eve. But all is well that ends well and the poorly son is now on the mend but our Christmas Turkey was eaten a few days later LOL
Wishing all our Clients, friends, family and all a Merry Christmas from Kensmyth
What better way to say thank you to our friends, family, clients and everyone than a super photo (sorry do not know who took) of the Cirencester lights
and my Christmas cake made by my Mum..
Merry Christmas from all at Kensmyth
Lest we forget to mention you this Christmas at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow
For all those people who have lost loved ones this year, including myself, we face our first Christmas without them. I saw this on Facebook and felt it summed it up really..
As the sun rises in the Cotswolds we think of you..
and as it sets and the moon shows her blood red beauty we will think of you..
Alpaca visitors at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow, Cirencester
Well Time and Tide wait for no man and training days and visitors have continued despite some challenging weather and ground conditions.. so beautiful to see how the alpaca connect with visitors of all ages..
cold and frosty morning at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow, Cirencester
the Cotswolds are so beautiful on a frosty morning and the alpaca who sleep outside despite shelters look so Christmassy covered in frost..
Christmas in the air at Kensmyth Alpaca, Cirencester
well my Mum always told me not to buy Advent Calendars with chocolates in them because they are a waste of money and these days the packaging should be recycled.. well this year I have to agree with her because this Lindt Advent Calendar looked marvellous but just look how pathetic the chocolates inside ..
Grazing the lanes at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow, Cirencester
Well we really do graze the lanes between our paddocks with equines but a whole new method of grazing was discovered by this cheeky Draught horse – naughty naughty and quickly stopped !
for followers of Kensmyth Kite Flyer or Fat Boy to his friends – just look at that extension..
