Man best resembling beast? Kensmyth, Clay Meadow..
Someone has a Pandemic Hair style and I am not sure its the Llama?
Little things.. mean a lot at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow
Sometimes in life you have to just stop and look around in wonder about how some things are so small and yet so powerful..
the jaws of a determined dog carrying a log for example..
or the power of a 40 inch pony Cob – Animal Magic at its best..
Time out at Kensmyth Alpaca and Llama, Clay Meadow
My Mum says my Llama should get a mention so there you go Mum. We do not use the Llama for walking often because I am training them my way and they are working so well I simply hate sharing them! But I do love walking the Alpaca regularly by myself around the farm in Winter time when every livestock member gets to see old relatives (daughters, sons etc) and old friends and new..
Microchipping Alpaca
Sometimes we put chips in behind the ears, sometimes into the neck and sometimes behind the elbow along the chest – checking for chip retention is a bi annual occurrence here at Kensmyth to ensure all livestock remains Microchipped at all times.
and teeth can require attention too..
Llama drama week at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow
Sometimes there are weeks where you wish you were anything but human. With my 89 year old poor Dad down with Shingles for goodness sakes on top of everything else and Completions failing to happen, orders being delivered incorrectly or not at all – STOP – don’t you just want to stop all the Drama and be a Llama?
Tunnel Inn Cirencester
I have eaten here on a few occasions and always found it a pleasant atmosphere with great food. more recently excellent food and it is with sadness I read of its closure. I hope, as with many others in the current climate, it can reopen soon ..
Tortoise and Hare at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
well you know the story between the Tortoise (slow) and Hare (fast) as to who won the race?
Who do you think can cut the grass the fastest?
nothing like a miniature pony stallion or two keeping the grass down LOL
Rainy days and Mondays at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
well there are loads of chores to be doing before the clay here gets too saturated and they are not the most glamorous parts of Camelid care, rest assured, lol
you can always tell who actually uses their paddock hoovers when you visit – by the amount you can read on the instruction label on the handle front.. with ours – absolutely nothing can be read now! Tempting fate but a well used and totally reliable paddock hoover.
Happy Birthday at Kensmyth, Clay meadow
well somebody had a birthday and I cant think who !?! Happy Birthday to a beautiful person take care and hugs although I cannot see you today!
1st October, Forever Autumn
I woke this morning in tears, I do not know why – perhaps it is my favourite song Forever Autumn by Justin Hayward from War of the Worlds.. my deceased brothers favourite album, perhaps it is because I have lost so many loved ones since last Autumn and so many others I know have too, perhaps it is because around me in this world now I see beauty where others see and feel nothing but pain with more to come..
as we welcome October today perhaps I can give optimism by sharing some of the beauty I see daily with you ..
The Summer sun is fading as the year grows old
and darker days are drawing near
the winter winds will be much colder
now you”re not here
I watch the birds fly south across the Autumn sky +
and one by one they disappear
I wish that I was flying with them, now you’re not here
Like the Sun through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away..
Through Autumn’s golden gown we used to kick our way
you always loved this time of year
those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now
‘cos you’re not here
Rest in peace to all those we lost since last Autumn and hope in the beauty we can find in ourselves every day and the strength to continue this Autumn whatever it brings to all of us..
welcome October 2020
+ all photos bar the geese one in this post are my own and I do not know who took that to credit them.
