December 2022 welcome and here comes the cold at Clay Meadow Alpaca farm
December 2022 – how many plans have been thwarted this year that have been destroyed by others I wonder? As the cold frosty morning hints of more cold to come, our thoughts go to those who have lost their homes and cannot afford to heat or eat this winter. We will do what we can to help, rest assured and work with many Charities as Kensmyth and individually.
Ocado vegetables do they come up to scratch or is it all supermarkets
I ordered tomatoes – yes I know it is not alpaca related but actually it was for Vegetarian clients – from Ocodo for the second attempt. My first order was okay but late and they promised a voucher that never arrived but the second order contained inedible tomatoes of which I had ordered quite a few. They did, eventually refund and send a second voucher but I am disinclined to use them again.. is this the way of Veg or just Ocado related please folks?
Bearing in mind it is Marks and Spencer related, I was surprised.. all of these were inedible, had no use by date or sell by date or expiry date and when consulting with Ocado advised they do not have to put one on! It then transpired the number which is ready by them relates to a date of expiry but that they do not put a use by date on so that folk use them longer than that.. helpfully saving wastage .. um that one is lost on me folks!
Be aware – how do you know how old the product you are receiving is if this is not on it?
Cirencester Market in the Cotswolds for Christmas
A mizzy day and a Christmas feeling – that is Cirencester Advent market in the Cotswolds..
Alpaca fascinator as leaves start falling Kensmyth Clay Meadow
Do I look good in this?
Alpaca on good grass as winter sets in Cotswolds
Well there is nothing better than an Autumn flush of grass for making you smile on a November day with your alpaca
Pregnancy testing at Kensmyth Alpaca Clay Meadow
When all the alpaca are pregnant that you want to me, you just love the boys for their part!
Scanning alpaca is an art and whilst we check on our own kit, we get specialists in now too for double checking. A year is a long time to wait for a baby that was never going to arrive – all pregnant here!
Barn for winter at Kensmyth Alpaca in the Cotswolds
Well for many a new barn is not that exciting but with climate change meaning the ground is wetter and alpaca having pads like dogs not hooves, concrete bases are critical for drying their feet. I have put together the Barn for those interested in how it goes up as it really is almost there.. just needs doors!
Welcome November 2022 at Kensmyth Alpaca South Cerney
What better way to welcome November that some photos of happy Alpaca visitors taken recently!
nothing like a good roll in clean straw girls!
Happy Halloween from Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow in the Cotswolds

Terra Terra T Bone Steak, Mary at Hampstead Theatre & the M4 diversions
I would like to know who decided to close Juntion 5/6 on the M4 at the same time as having major roadworks on the Great Western Way? How to make Tourists stay away from London?
It took 3 hours and 45 minutes to do a two hour journey.. a quick walk to Terra Terra restaurant where they charge £88 for a T Bone Steak – NO I am not kidding you and a quick walk to Hampstead Theatre to watch Mary.
Least said about that the better is all I can say, I have never seen a performance with only 3 Actors and where one forgot his lines so much!
Lovely to catch up with folks though.
The vegan pizza was quite frankly boring and a rip off..
The Sea Bass was disappointingly small for an adult dish – nothing else with it!
The Mango panna cotta was in a pot only half full..
and the Vegetarion Chocolate mousse was a splodge of dark chocolate, runny with a gritty texture of coconut – yuk!
I am sure Terra Terra in Swiss Cottage will have its keen followers but I would not go back!
