Winter is coming Barn at Clay Meadow Cirencester
Well the house is painfully slow but the barn is going up pretty quickly I can tell you!
Great to have the overhang but weird seeing it halfway up.
getting there in time for the really bad weather..
Truro in the rain and whose bottom please? Kensmyth Alpaca
Well warm and wet with occasional sunshine but high temperatures and a quick trip to Truro disappointingly wet but great fun!
Spent our time in little Cafes and wandering the boutiques and admiring this bottom!
Fencing – Clipex or traditional at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
We have been looking at fencing here at Kensmyth. It is always a debate – X fence and post and rail or the latest modern technology. Clipex is a contender but somehow we feel that aesthetically it just would not suit here. How do you put in gates with Clipex and would it move in the clay soil that hardens in heatwaves and softens in winter? So back to post and rail and X fence.. well done guys!
Eating better for less at Kensmyth Alpaca in the Cotswolds
With the financial situation as it is, I have had many chats with folk who are Vegan, Vegetarian, Diabetic, Lactulose intolerant, pretty much you name it! Many have said that tinned goods with oil is really good for you and better than all the packeted foods, so we have been giving it a go.
Not for everyone is a Marmite drink at lunchtime or tinned Mackeral but the protein does really fill you up.
Peanut butter no salt, no sugar and no palm oil is pretty amazing on Ryvita too..
Fresh fruit into Skyr high protein yoghurt is amazing..
My kingdom for a barn at Kensmyth Alpaca in the Cotswolds
We have been lucky with the weather so far and the first of the new buildings is going up ready to take the livestock in what we predict will be a harsh winter. It has to be following that Summer and we had snow in February and March last year as well as a heatwave!
now the machine below is one I would like to keep!
Bourton-on-the-water in the Cotswolds – Fracking? I hope not
A rare day out with family and it found us at the Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-water. So many beautiful Cotswold stone houses, little shops and streets with the water running by – such a pity it is on the list for Fracking..
lovely day to get out the Morgan though – and yes, I had permission to take this photo..
October we welcome you and the amazing technicolour of leaf fall
Nothing can be more beautiful than the colours of Autumn, welcome October
Fruit and pies at Kensmyth Alpaca in the Cotswolds
Well I have been saying how much fruit we have had this year from the Orchard.. we had to put some in the freezer!
Pies, Crumbles, you name it, Plums, Blackberries, apples..
Last BBQ at Kensmyth Alpaca in the Cotswolds
Sometimes it can be sad to do something for the last time, even if only short lived. If I have blogged on this previously then apologies because my Website has been a bit erratic lately. Anyway, hubby is very good at cooking Hallumi!
No, not moving away, just moving house in 2023 hopefully!
Block and Beam at Kensmyth Alpaca in the Cotswolds
Well life continues with farm work and hedge work and husbandry training as always at this time of year but the wind caught the gate and I damaged a machine for the first time ever having owned it since 2008..
good old gamma tape but I rear a repair is in order.
and Block and Beam inspection for this young lady as the house rises out of the ground on a daily basis..
