Beautiful September at Kensmyth Alpaca Clay Meadow
How beautiful are the mornings in the mist as the dawn breaks and the light lifts in the fields with your livestock – sometimes I forget the old saying.. “you never know what you have got until you have lost it” – in these uncertain times, nature is a reminder of what we truly all have if we just look around..
well I thought he was beautiful !
Old Traditions at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
I had to put this up because it was so beautiful to watch (not just the chap LOL) but the art and tradition of old being carried on through the generations.
Listed houses with Thatch are always beautiful even when the thatch is old..
Happy Birthday 09 09 at Kensmyth Alpaca Clay Meadow
Well my Father would have been 90 today and it is a sad day because it was his goal to achieve that but he did get with Mum a letter from the Queen for their Wedding Anniversary which was another of his goals so not too shabby!
Never forgotten, always missed.. the song by Ellie Golding .. “How long will I love you” always springs to mind.
It was an eerie dawn this morning, so beautiful
He would have found the Hot Air Balloon nearly landing on our Barns hilarious – here’s to you Dad!
A rare day off at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
It is not often we have a day off, let alone together so it was a joy to have a sunny day off and take a few things off my “Bucket List”.. this time to Visit Wales again, to eat Lobster again and to visit the seaside in September and finally, to visit a Castle.. enjoy the photos, this is Laugharne in Wales..
Fifty shades of Grey at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
Well our boy Mr Grey (Earl Grey is his real name) has really performed well for us with the fleeces on the cria and colours being just stunning. Really, really pleased.
So nice that the cria learn to eat from two weeks from the troughs and by two months can stand over them – what a cheeky, happy, healthy bunch they are all are here at Kensmyth!
September 2021 welcome the Harvest at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
September has flown at us in a whisper of showers and cooler nights but looks set to be an Indian Summer – here is hoping. Meantime its juicy fruit of the trees and avoiding angry wasp time.
Why they get so angry when there is plenty of fruit for all is beyond me but they do, don’t they!
Winter is coming and nights are drawing close at Kensmyth, Clay Meadow
Well the Clocks do not go back yet (Spring forward, Fall back) but the nights are drawing in and the evenings are much cooler. Winter is coming.
I love this time of year bar the angry wasps of course and many regular readers know my favourite song for this time of year is Justin Haywards.. “Forever Autumn”. It comes from the War of the Worlds – what a great Album that was.
Fox warning from Kensmyth Alpaca Clay Meadow
Please be very careful where you encourage Foxes into your garden, or do not discourage them. It is a very short step from lounging in your sunchair by your BBQ to slipping quietly through an opened back door.
A cornered Fox will attack (most wild beasts will) and it will end in tears and hospitalisation. It will also take on your own pets be they Cats or Dogs if cornered by them.
However cute this might look, in a garden in London, Winter is coming and Foxes WILL seek food and shelter..
Please be very careful, Wildlife is great but it IS Wild.
Helping hands at Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
Well even when you weigh 45kg you sometimes need a cuddle at the end of a long working day on farm!
Many hands make light work especially if you are 6ft 5inches tall and can lift mountains!
Anyone for Courgettes? Kensmyth Alpaca, Clay Meadow
I know I said I would not mention them again.. but anyone for courgettes? We have exhausted our enthusiasm for them and are getting literally bucket loads per day off them..
