Well I have mentioned previously that our little girl (well 16.2hh and only just 4 years) was going to go away to be broken in for a short while before returning to be put in foal early spring… well off she went

with her named grooming kit

and her brand new rugs

for all weathers and nice warm stable and great facilities I simply don’t have..

don’t worry she will be back home in a few weeks

well there isn’t a lot to say about the weather is there?

I love my car. She is nearly 34 years old and I have done over 270 kilometres in her – she is an old Landcruiser import. Every year she has more parts replaced due to age (im sure I will get like that soon) and a lot of welding but she never lets me down..

On a windy day where I ended up with windburnt lips (ouch) as a result, she finally did but I guess its not her fault really.

Glad I had RAC recovery when I got a puncture 3 hours from home and waited 4 hours for them to arrive as I simply could not get the bolts off myself.. happy driving again in her, bless!

There is nothing worse than not finding a parking space at Cheltenham Hospital when you have an appointment that you really don’t want to go to in the first place.

But worse than that is when the Parking Metres don’t work – nope not a single one! Luckily I arrived early and after witnessing the Parking Police slap tickets on cars, worked out I could pay with my card to the number on the side of the Parking Metre itself by phoning them.

Apparently it registers on the Parking Metre Police hand held machines that you have paid (if you do) – the wonders of modern technology!

Draught horses grow very slowly and very big and ours are no exception. Our black Grade 1 Filly was four on January the first although technically not 4 until May. So her teething cap removal has been a long slow process but we are there now and she will be broken in then turned away shortly.. so exciting days ahead for all of us

Well I did say we would pay for the mild weather at the end of last year.. I don’t think its over yet though. Storms, rain, wind taking tiles off but the livestock all safe and sound and dry. More than a bit puddly in the fields though and im on my second pair of Aigle boots this winter – they don’t make them to last anymore do they?
